Thematic map - Fishing places passive gear

Map information

Areas where commercial, leisure and / or tourist fishing is or has been conducted and which can be expected to be used in the future. Examples of gear are nets and line.

Data are collected by the Directorate of Fisheries' regional office based on interviews with mainly fishermen. The data set is being prepared and data from new areas will be published as they are registered and quality assured.

The map below shows coverage for the data. Zoom in to see if there is data for your area.

The map is taken from the Directorate of Fisheries' map service.

NB! The map on this page does not show information about which species are caught within the various areas. The actual map on the plotter has the different species as subcategories. Ie. if you want to see fishing spots for Lange then just hit the subcategory "Lange".  There can be several species within the same areas so if you turn on all subcategories there will be areas that overlap.
